“No one is coming so save us, but us.” — CA Sen. Alex Padilla
Dear Friends,
This newsletter is devoted to only one thing: a last-ditch effort to stop the Big Ugly Bill. The vote is soon—maybe today—and needs only two more GOP Senators to turn against it (in addition to Paul and Tillis) for it to fail. Susan Collins is one of the few who remain undecided.
There are 1700 readers of this newsletter; together let’s melt her phone lines, calling to tell her to vote down this disastrous bill!
Some things to remember when calling:
She cast the deciding vote on Obamacare, which gave thousands and thousands of Mainers access to health care. Does she want to undo that major achievement?
23,000 Mainers in the 2nd District ALONE will lose Medicaid coverage.
Rural hospitals across the state will close, and even those who can afford care won’t be able to get it. (Collins actually cares about rural hospitals.)
Her plan to offer an amendment to raise the tax rate for the most affluent Americans to what it was before Trump’s 2017 tax cuts is great, and she should refuse to support any bill that doesn’t includ that provision.
So grab your phones, flex your dialing fingers, and have at it! Call ALL her offices:
Portland: (207) 618-5560
Lewiston: (207) 784-6969
Biddeford: (207) 283-1101
Caribou: (207) 493-7873
Augusta: (207) 622-8414
Washington DC: (202) 224-2523
Thank you for doing your bit!
Amy
