“No one is coming so save us, but us.” — CA Sen. Alex Padilla
Dear Friends,
Just a quick bulletin—and the last of this week, as I’m on vacation—to urge you to make one last push today on the Budget Bill (assuming events don’t overtake this message).
It’s tough for Mainers to know what to do, as our House reps are both committed NO votes already. But other, Republican, House members are wavering, and we can add our voices to the huge number clamoring to shut down this bill.
How? It’s quick and simple: social media. Here’s a spreadsheet with links you can click on to connect to each one of the most vulnerable, most hesitant Republicans. Leave a comment. No need for a script, simply say: STOP THE BBB!
Yours to the bitter end,
Amy
PS Also: for people looking for ways to protest virtually (people who can’t do rallies or in-person events), details on a workshop this Sunday.

Upcoming Event: Virtual Activism Forum

"Come have a voice in creating an ongoing virtual activism space for anyone who can't attend protests in person, for whatever reason. Disabled folx, chronically ill peeps, caregivers, parents, working folx who can only join during a break, people who hate crowds, folx with sensory issues; you have a place here! This is a low-key, low stakes, come-as-you-are, discussion."
Register here. Offered by ActivateMaine.
